This morning at the meeting of the Winneshiek County Board of Supervisors, Steve Luse on behalf of the Community Rights Alliance of Winneshiek County presented a community-rights based ordinance to BAN frac sand mining in the County. Many members of the group were in attendance as well as members of the community.
The group is also launching a petition drive to gather signatures in support of the ordinance.
The supervisors had multiple questions for the group about their ordinance. The group plans to return to the Board of Supervisors in one month to report on their petition drive.
